MAY BUY HORSES

AUSTRALIAN MANUFACTURER IN AUCKLAND COMBINED HOLIDAY An Australian manufacturer, combining a holiday in New Zealand with a more or less eager search for any good horses which may be offering, is Mr. M. Gearin. Mr. Gearin. who is accompanied by his wife, arrived at Auckland this morning on the Niagara. A keen sportsman, he is on the look-out for horses not only for himself, but for other prospective buyers. Mr. Gearin is associated with the tallow, paint and zinc oxide trade. At one time he dealt with New Zealand in each of these lines, but has now limited his trading to zinc oxide. The demand for this product is becoming so great that it is difficult to keep the supply adequate, mainly because of the increase use of paint and of rubber shoes and rubber hospital goods, the preparation of which involves the use of zinc oxide. Mr. Gearin intends to look into the question of securing zinc dross in New Zealand.
