RUGBY CONTROL
N.Z. REPRESENTATION TARANAKI UNION’S MOTION Press Association NEW PLYMOUTH, Today. In reply to the New Zealand Rugby Union regarding the resolution from the English Rugby Union on the question of representation on the International Rugby Board, the Taranaki Union has passed the following resolution : “That as the variations in the New Zealand code of laws of the game as framed by the international board are purely for domestic play and sanctioned by the board for that purpose by dispensation, the Taranaki Union regards the conditions, now suggested to be imposed as precedent to consideration of the question of giving the Dominions representation on a truly international board ox* consultative committee, as provocative rather than conciliatory and savouring of chastisement rather than toleration. “This union affirms that while up to now football opinion has favoured the new rules, there would be no question that all the decisions of an international board on which New Zealand had direct representation would be loyally accepted.”
