HIGH PRAISE FOR “TRESPASSER”

Amazing scenes were witnessed in London at the first presentation of Gloria Swanson’s first talking picture “The Trespasser.” About 5,000 people’ arrived, the crowd broke the police cordon and surged round her car in an attempt to obtain a real close-up of the star. Miss Swanson had to be extricated from her car by a bodvguard of guests in evening dress from the theatre.

The picture drew this comment from the “Daily Chronicle”—"Miss Swanson achieved a triumph. The stuff of this story is real. It has vigour and beauty. Miss Swanson gives a brilliant performance, convincing and sympathetic in the highest degree She has taught them all how to do if! It is the achievement of a genuine artist. Her speaking voice is cultured and her singing voice charming.”
