The latest addition to the series of counterfeit coins which has been cirj culating in Christchurch for ■ e **®*jj months is a spurious shilling. | yesterday, when a bad shilling "*** passed over a tobacconist's counter, i was thought that the only counter : feits about were florins and bal crowns. The shilling is dated 1919 and, | its worn appearance, seems to habeen handled a good deal. It is P®* fectly cast, but is lighter in colou* 1 and weight than a genuine coin, although its ring is almost true.
