CONSISTENCY

TEAN McELWYN, the game little pacer in Roy Berry’s stable, continues to race consistently, if with exasperating bad luck. Last year she had an unenviable placed record, and although the present season has only run a four months’ course, Nelson Bingen’s daughter is repeating the performance. Since August the Aucklandowned pacer has competed in 14 races, being second on five occasions and four times receiving the third money. She certainly deserves to score a win and although well back in the chief heat at New Brighton tomorrow may prove equal to the task and break the spell.
