In the Market Place

BANANAS DEARER APPLE PRICES FIRM Shorter supplies of bananas in the City Marts this week caused an increase in prices at today’s sales. Apples are very firm in value and Canadian Delicious lines are bringing high rates. Lemons are selling well. Firm lines of hothouse tomatoes are bringing good values. Cherry plums are selling freely. The large offerings of strawberries are bringing about declines in values. Apricots offered so far have been Of fair quality only. Xo change has taken place in vegetables. New potatoes are still very cheap and most lines are heavily supplied. General prices for poultry are lower owing to heavy pennings. Good cockerels are maintaining their values, but the decrease is noticeable in halfgrown birds. Good heavy hens and young drakes are well sought.
