WORK AT ORPHANAGES
SERVICE BY MILITARY OBJECTORS A suggestion that conscientious objectors from military training who have been granted exemption should be given work in the orphanage institutions of their denominations as alternative service, was welcomed by the Auckland Presbytery at a meeting yesterday. The convener of the Public Questions Committee, the Rev. W. Lawson Marsh, reported that he had been approached on the subject and asked if the suggestion would meet with the approval of the Presbytery. He thought personally that all ministers would welcome the posting of objectors within the church to work in the orphanages. He moved a motion along those lines. This was seconded by the Rev. D. C. Herron, and was carried unanimously without further discussion.
