M.C.C- IN AUSTRALIA Press Association WELLINGTON. Today. After their arrival the M.C.C. . cricketers were given a civic reception at which they were welcomed by the Deputy-Mayor of Wellington, Mr. M. F. Luckie, on behalf of the city. The Hon. H. Atmore. Minister of Education, represented the Government, and Sir Francis H. D. Bell, president of the Wellington Cricket Association. was also present. Members of the team made no secret of the fact that they had had a ! strenuous time in Australia, where on ' wickets which were new to most of ' them, it. was not easy to settle down. Injuries and sickness to various members meant a big handicap, and then : there was £. great deal of train travelling, amounting to about a thousand J miles a match.
