In connection with the South Auckland Bowling Competition, Glen Massey defeated Taupiri, at Taupiri, on Saturday last by 86 games to CO. Detailed results were as follow: Burnie, J. Connew, A. Connew. Simpson, v. Gorman, Day, Horwood Seath, 13—26; Gain, Hamill, Cornes, Girand, V. Charles, Madigan. Laybourn, Barber, 27 —11; Mills, Cochrane, McFarlane, Morris, v. Powell, Buss, Catley, Hill, 23 —16; Trew, Nicholson. Alker, McLeod, v. A. Waring, W. Waring, Gleeson, Wilson, 23—13. In each case Glen Massey is mentioned first. SMITH CLARKE SHIELD From Our Own Correspondent HUNTLY, Today. Ngaruawahia wrested the Smith Clarke shield from Whitiora a fortnight ago, and Huntly played the former for th© coveted trophy on Saturday and succeeded in its objective. The'game was a keen one, the fifth head being disastrous for the holders, whose score sheet was only 3 against 12 by Huntly. Scores: —Huntly; Leonard, Thompson, Turton, Seccombe, 23. Ngaruawahia.: Rogers, Blewden, McFarlane, Clavis, 39. The Huntly pairs competition was won by E. George and T. Elolt.
