FALWASSER BOOKS PASSAGE FOR ENGLAND SIGNED UP WITH WIGAN CLUB Signed up at a fee of £ 800 for a three-year term, in addition to the customary payments for matches in which he participates, Albert Falwasser, the well-known Maori footballer, will be a passenger by the lonic, which sails late this afternoon, to take up professional status with the Wigan League Club in England. It will bo recalled that Falwasser was previously reported to have signed up with the Wigan Club. After being given a farewell by the Manukau Rovers Club, he left for Wellington, but at the last minute decided not to sail, and later returned to Auckland. Falwasser played in Hawke’s Bay and Taranaki before coming to Auckland. He was a member of the Maori team which toured England and France in 1926. Last season he was an Auckland 11 representative. The Wigan Club,, which won the English Club championship last season, has -been very partial to New Zealanders in recent years. Included in its ranks are L. Brown, L. Mason, B. Davidson, and J. Spillane, who was signed up at the end of the last New Zealand season.
