12 KILLED, 75 INJURED IN BELGIUM A SPECTACLE OF HORROR United I’./i. — By Telegraph — Copyright. Reed. 11 a.m. PARIS, Tuesday. A Namur message states that a failure of the brakes derailed a passenger train when it was descending a steep bank near the station, ard four carriages were telescoped. There were scenes of horror, and rescue was very difficult. It is believed that 12 persons werd killed and 75 injured. The carriages were crowded, many passengers standing. The train waa speeding at 60 miles an hour, when the derailment turned the engine completely round, crumbling three carriages, other carriages remaining vertical. Rescuers, aided by the fire brigade and special cranes from Brussels, wrestled for three hours, cutting through metal plates. The dead were terribly mutilated.
