New dance and singing number: abound in “The Broadway Melody,’ the spectacular Metro-Goldwyn-Maye: all-talking production which is nov drawing to the close of its season a the Empress Theatre, Newton. Attractive features of the picture are the wonderful dancing of the bal lets and the marvellous stage effect which have been obtained with tin use of unusual camera technique. Other attractions are items b; William O’Neil, tenor, and “The Revel lers” Quartet, and a rendering o “Lonely Nights,” by George Lyons, to singing harpist. Excellent entertain ment is also provided by Sunshin Sammy and his brothers.
