TIVOLI

“THE LITTLE WILD CAT” Why is it that peppery old gentlemen make such delightful characters on screen or stage? Take George Fawcett, for instance, who plays with such verve a crotchety Southern judge in “The Little Wildcat”—or Robert Edeson. who portrays the judge’s quarrelsome pal. The judge has two quite unmanageable granddaughters, played charmingly by Audrey Ferris and Doris Dawson. One of the judges’ pet aversions is aviation—and his choler may be imagined when a husky young birdman arrives on the scene, determined to start an airport adjoining the judge’s plantation. “The Little Wildcat,” which is now at the Tivoli Theatre, has an especially well-chosen cast. James Murray is ingratiating as the airman who causes devastation in the hearts of the ‘“wildcat” and her sister, and Hallam Cooley is amusing as the cast-off lover who is finally taken on again. The supporting talkie items are of a most enjoyable nature.
