Obituary

MR. J. JAMIESON An early settler of the Manawatu district, Mr. John Jamieson, has died at his home near Foxton at the ago of 75. Born in the Shetland Islands he came to New Zealand in 1876, but immediately went to Australia, returning the following year. He purchased a farm at the Manawatu 52 years ago. Mrs. Jamieson died in 1322. Mr. Jamieson is survived by three sons and six daughters.

MR. WILLIAM SHAW Cabled advice from England reports the death of Mr. William Shaw, who was at one time well-known in Auckland and the Bay of Plenty, at the age of 82. He was educated at Repton School and arrived in New Zealand with his wife and two daughters in 1876 and for some years farmed & property of 1,500 acres at Katikati. Mr. Shaw is survived hv two daughters. Mrs. H. Manse!’ of Gate Pa. T;.uranga, and Mrs. Pickering, of liendoison.
