HARBOUR BOARD AT CREASE Keen interest was manifested in the Green Lane - Harbour Board clash. Last season’s champions won the toss, and decided to make the best*of a batting wicket. Breese and Turner went to the crease first, and although the former opened out on the howling with sparkling drives past mid-off, and pretty leg glances, his partner was slow. A roar of applause from the stand greeted the magnificent onehanded catch with which H. Watts dismissed Turner, when seven. Breese settled down to stylish cricket when Badeley joined him. his carpet drives bringing runs steadily. Badeley had his confidence severely shaken bv an early Ibw appeal, but managed to reach the “devil’s number’’ before Sec combe set the stumps awrv. Details: HARBOUR BOARD. First Innings. TURNER, c H.
