ROXY

“THE FLYING FOOL” “The Flying Fool," now at the Roxy Theatre, is a talkie which combines romance with some thrilling aerial stunt flying. The star is William Boyd, who appears as Bill, a wartime aviator who has three major considerations, himself, his kid brother, and the frequent company of a variety of pretty girls. Back from France he takes up work ns a stunt flyer with billing as "The Flying Fool." and life runs along smoothly with everything, including a regular stream of blondes, coming his way. Bill’s placid progress is interrupted when the brother exhibits love symptoms and “knowin’ wimmen" he starts out to def a little investigating on the youngster’s behalf. The boy has chummed up with a cabaret dancer, and soon experience teaches Bill that the girl is different from the rest. She happens to be a few years the senior of her admirer, and this is the lever which Bill uses. Anyway, eventually both he and the girl discover they are soul mates, and this starts trouble between the brothers, with many consequential dramatic clashes. Things work out all right, and Bill marries the girl. Tlis brother, having since survived the tortures of repulsed puppy love, sets out with light-hearted abandon to emulate Bill by a string of conquests among the lisping chickens of liapperdom. An excellent supporting programme is also presented, headed by "Xoisy Neighbours.” an entertaining talkie about vaudeville players, starring Eddie Quinlan.
