DEATH FROM INJURIES
MAN HIT BY MOTOR-CYCLE BIRKENHEAD ACCIDENT Mr. Edwin Thomas Bird, who suffered severe injuries to his head as the result of being knocked down by a motor-cycle in Gleiliield Road, Birkenhead, on Thursday, died at the Auckland Hospital last evening. Mr. Bird was wheeling his bicycle across the road when he was knocked down by a motor-cycle driven by Alexander Roberts, _aged 18, of Stanley Road. Birkenhead. lie wits removed to the hospital iff a serious condition. An inquest was opened before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., coroner, this morning. The body was identified by Frederick Aubrey Bird, the brother of deceased. Mr. Frederick Bird stated tha. his brother, who was a labourer and worked in the Chelsea Sugar Works, was married, 46 years of age, and lived in Glenfield Road, Birkenhead.
The inquest was adjourned sine die
