DARGAVILLE NOTES

A field day* held on Wednesday at the Xorthern Wairoa Experimental and Demonst ration Farm Society’s farm at Manga rat a attracted nearly 100 farmers from all parts of the district. A demonstration of the making of ensilage was given by Mr. T. J. Hamblyn, instructor in ag.ricultur* . Great interest was displayed by' the farmers present in the work of stacking, which was carried out with the aid of a mast and boom stacker. Mr. Hamblyn also delivered an interesting address on the making of ensilage. Messrs. W. Taylor and R. Hannan were appointed instructors to the recently formed Dargaville Military Boxing Association, at a meeting held on Wednesday evening. The executive committee was deputed to make inquiries £nd report to a later meeting concerning suitable quarters for training.
