DAIRY CONSOLIDATION

HAWKE’S BAY PURCHASE Press Association HASTINGS, Today. An important transaction relating to the dairying industry in Central Hawke’s Bay has just been completed, the Heretaunga Co-operative Dairy Company, with headquarters at Hastings, having purchased the property, plant and goodwill of the Waipukurau Co-operative Dairy Company, whose headquarters were at Waipukurau. Dairying is now making such rapid progress on the rich land around Hastings that the Heretaunga Company was faced with the necessity of doubling its plant capacity within the next year or two and the establishment of a branch factory in its southern territory to reduce overhead expenses and consolidate the districts. The dairying industry is under a progressive organisation which has reached a high place for the quality of its products and the price paid to suppliers.
