YOUNG—GIESEN

INTERESTING WEDDING AT ROTORUA CHURCH IS BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED A wedding of great local interest took place at St. Luke’s Church, Rotorua. on Tuesday afternoon, when Miss M inifred Eileen (Tui) Giesen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Giesen, of Rotorua, was married to Eric Lancaster Young, of the staff of the Bank of New Zealand, Christchurch, and eldest son of Mr. W. H. Young, of Rotorua. The church was beautifully decorated with iceland poppies, pink and cream roses and lykapodium by friends of the bride. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Archdeacon Chatterton. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her brother, Mr. Russel B. Giesen, in the absence of her father, wore a frock of shrimp pink georgette with the skirt a mass of frills edged with darker shades of taffeta, and large hip bow. Her veil of embroidered tulle over pink fell in graceful folds, and was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet of carnations and roses. The bride was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Nea Jervois, of Wellington, and Miss Jean Giesen. sister of the bride. Both were dressed alike in frocks of eau-ne-nil georgette, with tight-fitting corsages, the skirt falling in ankle length points with touches of gold. They wore green crinoline hats and carried bouquets of gold iceland poppies and roses. Mr. Ronald Young, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, while the bride’s brother, Mr. Clifford Giesen, was groomsman. The bride’s mother wore a frock of black georgette and lace, and a black hat. Mrs. Young, mother of the bridegroom, wore a frock of fawn mocane and a black hat. After the ceremony a reception was held at Kai Ora Hotel.
