AUCKLAND DISTRICT EXECUTIVE MEETS The Auckland district executive of the Women's Christian Temperance Union was held on Monday, when Mrs. Lee Cowie presided. The new superintendent of Alaorl work was "welcomed. Airs. Cook reported oh the success Henderson Union had achieved in getting Bible reading into the school. Airs. Pirrett, one of the executive’s representatives to the National Council of Women, reported on the business dealt with by that council at its last meeting. Airs. Cowie stated that she had sent a strong protest to the Government against any licence being granted for the sale of intoxicating liquor at the Chateau Tongariro. It was decided to send a letter of appreciation to the Alayor of Wellington, Air. G. A. Troup, for the stand he took in not allowing intoxicating liquor on the Town Hall premises at Wellington. A very full agenda was concluded by the pronouncing of the Benediction.
