JERSEY BREEDERS

VISIT TO MR. A. J. COURT’S HERD PEDIGREE COWS ON VIEW A fixture of considerable interest to Auckland Jersey cattle breeders was held at Mr. A- J. Court’s “Sevenoaks,” Ellerslie, property this afternoon. A demonstration of Jersey points was held under the auspices of the Auckland Metropolitan Jersey Club. Mr. Court’s particularly fine “Sevenoaks” herd was placed at the disposal of the club for the purposes of the demonstration, and Mr. A. E. Jones, of Northcote, went over various points of the cattle before a. ring of interested breeders. Strength and weakness in relation to constitution and production were explained, and many questions were answered by the demonstrators.

One of the cows brought into the ring was the imported animal “Volunteer’s Rosebud,” a cow -which in a class of 70 entries at the Jersey Island Royal Show in 1924 was placed third.
