TEMPERANCE UNION

EDEN BRANCH MEETING Mrs. Huyr presided over a good attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Edoti Branch of the M omens Christain Temperance Union, held at the Dominion Hoad Methodist Sunday School room. The secretary presented the annual report whicli revealed much activity dui mg the past year. The treasurer presented a very satisfactory balance sheet. The election of officers resulted in the retiring executive being reelected. Suprintendents were appointed to various departments, and one new member was initiated. The same branch held a meeting in the Methodist School room, Mount Eden Hoad, on Tuesday. Mrs. Havr presided. Mrs. Johnston, delegate to the Xational Council of Women gave an account of the business dealt with at that Council’s last meeting. Plans of work were discussed, and a helpful address given by Mrs. Keene, on the need for prayer and reliance on God for the success of the work. Afternoon tea was provided.
