BANKRUPT AGENT

FRIENDS MAKE OFFER

UNSECURED CREDITORS BENEFIT “I have consulted the Crown Prosecutor concerning the prosecution of the bankrupt, but as yet he has not announced his decision,” said the Official Assignee, at the adjourned meeting, continued this morning, of tho creditors of John Edward Mortimer, agent, Auckland. The Offic.ial Assignee said that he had an offer from friends of the bankrupt of £3OO to be paid, under certain conditions, to unsecured creditors, but even if this money was accepted it would have no bearing on the decision to prosecute or not. The meeting passed a resolution accepting the £3OO-subject to Mrs. Mortimer transferring interests in certain mortgages.
