Gillies, who has been elected a member of the Auckland Stock Kxchange, attended his first call at midday today. The Uon. J. G. Coates, Leader of the* Opposition. accompanied by Mrs. Coates, arrived from Dargaville hist evening and is staying at the Grand Motel. Captain C. J. Foster, marine superintendent of the Union Steam Ship Company, who arrived from Wellington yesterday, is staying at Hotel Cargcn. Mr. J. H. McKenzie, general secretary of the Post and Telegraph Employees' Association, arrived in Auckland this morning from Wellington. On Monday evening he will address a special meeting of Post and Telegraph officers, when service grievances and working conditions will be discussed. The Rev. J. L. Greer, of Auckland, has accepted appointment as Chaplain of Samoa for three years. The Rev. A. C.
