“WALL OF DEATH”
MOTORISTS RISK LIVES AT LUNA PARK
ATTRACTION FOR FRIDAY Hurling around on liigli-powered motor-cycles in a wooden globe risking their lives for the amusement of the public . . . such is the- work of the Daredevil Staigs, who will supply thrills and excitement at the opening of Luna Park on Friday evening. These daring riders, who wear protected uniforms and headgear, start at the bottom of an enclosed wall about 20ft high, composed of narrow planks which have a certain amount of elasticity. The riders soon attain speed, by which they are enabled to climb the walls spirally to within a few feet of the top. Round and round they hurl, and with clever judgment and manipulation of their machines, dip and dive seemingly at will. Their act is known as "The Wall of Death.”
Miss May Staig, world-renowned for her "Globe of Death” riding, will make her first appearance in Auckland on Friday evening. Nearly 40.000 people paid for admission at the Wellington \N inter Show to Witness the sensational riding of the Daredevil Staigs. #
