COLD WAVES SWEEPING AMERICA

MANY ACCIDENTS CAUSED Reed. 9.3 a.m. NEW YORK, Monday. Violent deaths in the United States over the week-end already total 100, and tile figure is continuing to rise, as reports drift in over the telegraph wires that are crippled by tbe unseasonably cold weather. The majority of these fatalities are traceable to the cold waves which are sweeping the country, causing street, train, and other accidents. Numerous lives were lost in shipping and in mines.
