THAT the motor-cars in Auckland increased SI per cent, during the past three years was the surprising statement made by Air. O. P. Finlay in addressing the Auckland Harbour Bridge Commission yesterday. The total is now 25,728. Mr. Finlay said that there was one motor-car to every eight persons in Auckland, a proportion of cars to population that is second only to that In the United States and equalled only by that in Canada.
