INSTITUTE SOCIAL HELD

The first social evening of the newlyformed New Institute of Photography was held in the Lewis Eady Hall last evening, when there was a fair attendance of members and guests The president, Mr. T. H. Ashe, was in the chair. Mr. W. J. Jordan, membtr for Manukau, said that as a result of observations during his recent world tour, he was convinced that New Zealand’s photography, particularly portraiture, could hold its own with anv in the world. Items were given by the New Zealand Four and Mr. Ashe (humour), and Master Leslie Stewart (recitation), a dancing display was presented bv •pupils o/ Madame Edith Baird.
