BUSY VISITORS

MALOLO TOURISTS OUT SIGHTSEEING

QUIET, EMPTY SHIP

Today the Malolo was a quiet, empty ship. The vast majority of American millionaire and nearmillionaire tourists were out shopping and sightseeing in Auckland’s sunshine. Just a handful remained. They lounged in the great and luxurious but deserted lounges, read, wrote, or chatted to the visitors who came and went. Among them was “Lady Bobs” with her smart military stick and immensely large and valuable diamond ring, insured for a king’s ransom. The second party of Americans who visited Rotorua returned last evening delighted with their experiences. Throughout the morning, privileged Aucklanders toured through the ship, admiring the magnificence of the appointments. They found the ship’s staff courteous and obliging to a degree.
