SIX VESSELS WERE BURNED, following a terrific explosion on the American scientific yacht, Carnegie, while the latter was loading benzine at Apia, Samoa, on Saturday. The captain was killed and the cabin-boy is missing. The flames burned the Carnegie to the water's edge and also destroyed five smaller vessels which were moored near by.
