Threatening .rain did not deter racegoers from attending the second day of the Takapuna Jockey Club’s spring meeting, patrons being in the majority of cases equipped for emergencies. The new spring raincoats in their attractive colourings are so smart and light that prospective wet weather does not worry the modern woman. Some chic suits in the new flecked cloths were noticed, brown still holding its own. with green a close second. AMONG THOSE PRESENT Mrs. McVay, brown cloth ensemble, fur trimmed, and brown felt hat. Miss D. Farquhar. black satin ensemble touched with cherry and beige, beige hat with feather mounts, and marmot coat. Mrs. Stephen Hunter, tobacco brown tailored suit, with furs and a brown felt hat. Miss Hamlin, stone grey tailored suit, navy scarf and small grey felt hat. Miss Sellgrin, ravenswing blue velvet gown, black cloth coat and beige hat.
