SUICIDE OF MINISTER
JAPANESE ASTONISHED BY NEWS DISTINGUISHED DIPLOMAT TOKYO, Thursday. Japan Is astounded at the news that Mr. Sadao Saburi, Minister to China, committed suicide by shooting himself with a revolver at Moyanshita, on the anniversary of the death of his wife. Two months ago Mr. Saburi was appointed Minister to China, where he became unpopular on account of a speech which the Chinese considered derogatory. He was visiting Japan to report on Chinese affairs. The late diplomat had a distinguished career, including councillorships at Paris and “Washington. The reasons for the suicide are not known.
