BAZAAR AT WALTON

SUCCESSFUL CHURCH FUNCTION A bazaar organised by the congregation of the Methodist Church at Wilton, was very well attended, and resulted in nearly £6O being raised, which will almost free the church from debt. There was a very line display of goods and produce from the small community, and business was brisk. During the evening various competitions were held, the winners being as follow:—. Skittles, Mr. A. Pahl: candle-lighting, Mr.. Jamieson; nail -driving, Mr. K. Adams, 3; Mr. C. Fausett, 2; women's nail driving, Misses M. Given and L. Southee (the latter won the draw); women’s sawing, Mrs. Pahl. 1: Mrs. Livingstone, 2; women’s candle-lighting, Mrs. C. Given; cake guessing, Mrs. L. Mapp, Miss D. Wilcox and Mr. Armour all • guessed correctly and shared the cake; cushion weight guessing. Mrs. D. Mapp and Miss M. Dixon (the latter won the draw); men’s sawing, Mr. W. Martin. , • ' . ■*.
