ORCHESTRA FOR MAJESTIC

STAGE BAND NEXT FRIDAY A musical innovation that will be of interest to all Auckland cinemagoers will be presented at the Majestic Theatre from next Friday, when Mr. J. Whiteford-Waugh will introduce the new Majestic Stage Band. This band will include the following principal soloists :t —Haydn Murray, George Poore, Eric Bell, Herbert W illiams, Phil Jury, Aubrey Chambers, Rex. Wills, J. Zimmer, and Dec. Riley. Each of these musicians is an individual soloist, and is a, master at his particular instrument. Under Mr. Whiteford-Waugh’s direction, the band will play an entrancing programme of new and old favourites, popular and classical numbers. PICTURES AT ONEHUNGA

The chief attraction will be the alltalking mystery thriller, “The Terror,” based on Edgar "Wallace’s famous play. Leading roles are played by May McAvoy and Edward Everett Horton. The talkie supports will include violin solos by the great Mischa Elman; a song and dance scena, “Visions of Spain”; and the overture “Light Cavalry,” by the Vitaphone Symphony Orchestra. At the Foresters’ Hall, Onehunga, the chief film will be a stirring Hoot Gibson picture, “Winged Horsemen,” with excellent supporting items.
