BOHEMIAN ORCHESTRA
BIG RECITAL ARRANGED One of the finest musical treats of •he season is promised by the Bohemian Orchestra for their next concert. This will be held in the Town Hall on Thursday, December 5, when a fine programme of orchestral music will be presented by an orchestra of over 100 performers, as the Bohemians will be augmented by members of the Auckland Professional Musicians’ Union. One of the outstanding features of the evening will be the playing of TschaJkowsky’s “1812 Overture,” by this huge orchestra, plus a full brass band. Among the other items to be presented are “Raymond” Overture ( Thomas); “Cradle Song” (Schubert, arranged by Colin Muston); Wagner’s great overture “Tannhauser”; French Horn solo “Angels Guard Thee” • Godard, arranged by Trevor Sparling) played by Mr. Harry Berm; “Theme and Six Diversions” (German); and ‘Air On G. String” (Bach). The vocalists for the evening will be Miss Millicent O’Grady and Mr. R. Richards. Details of subscription, seating and membership and advertised.
