WELCOME TO TOURISTS
PARTY TO BOARD MALOLO EARLY MORNING VISIT A large iyjmber of officials will meet the Malolo in the stream tomorrow morning to welcome the American tourists to Auckland. The huge liner will steam into the harbour at 7 o’clock and will berth on the western side of the Queen’s Wharf soon after 8 o’clock in order to allow those who are leaving fdr Rotorua to catch their special train at 8.55 o'clock. The official party will go ofT to the Malolo at 7.30 a.m. in the Harbour Board's launch. Included in the party will be the Hon. J. G. Cobbe, representing the Government: the Mayor of Auckland, Mr. George Baildon; the Town Clerk, Mr. J. S. Brigham; Mr. W. F. Boyle, Consul for the United States in Auckland: Mr. M. H. Wynyard, chairman erf the Auckland Harbour Board; Mr. H. B. Burnett, superintendent of the Harbour Board: Mr. H. T. Merritt, president of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce; Dr. E. P. Neale, secretary of the Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Malcolm Stewart, vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce; Mr. C. F. Kunkel, assistant-United States Trade Commissioner; Mr. Charles Rhodes, president of the Auckland Rotary Club; Mr. R. O’Shea, also of the Rotary Club; and Mr. Ford, of the English Speaking Union. If the visitors desire an information bureau on board. Dr. Neale and Mr. Kunkel will make all arrangements for that and will personallv answer inquiries. It is not expected that the Malolo will be opened for public inspection as it is a home for the passengers who are touring on it. However, some arrangements may be made after the vessel’s arrival.
