NAPIER WOMAN DOES 50YDS IN 6 1-10 SEC SOUTH AFRICAN BEATEN Press Association NAPIER, Today. The world record for the ladies’ 50 yards sprint was lowered at Waipukurau la<st evening by Miss E. Hoyle, of Napier. Her time was 6 l-10s, which is l-5s better than the previous record, held by Miss Helen Filky, of South Africa. Miss Hoyle ran against four others, to whom she conceded starts, and easily defeated .them all. Two watches made the time six seconds, and two made it one-tenth of a second longer, which is the time credited. Miss Hoyle set out with the idea of attacking the New Zealand record of 6 2-ss, held by Miss Jackson, of Carterton.
