HIT BY STRAY BULLET
MOTORIST WOUNDED ON SIDE OF HEAD WINDSCREEN PERFORATED Special to THE S UN CHRISTCHURCH, Today. When Mr. A. Adams was driving near Dunsandel yesterday, on his way to Christchurch, a pea-rifle bullet drilled through' the windscreen, cut a furrow along the side of his head, and went out through the open side window of the car. “I heard a swish,” said Mr. Adams, “and then my daughter in the front seat with me asked me what I had done, for the blood was streaming down by face and coat. I did not hear the report of a rifle, and did not look particularly to see if there was anyone nearby with a rifle. “We were drawing near Dunsandel when it happened. There were no other cars near us, so the hole in the windscreen could not have been caused by a flying stone. The hole in the glass is round, cleanly cut, and just the size of a pea-rifle bullet. We were making a fairly good pace at the time. “My wife and another lady were in the rear seat of the car. They were naturally very much alarmed at the occurrence*’-
