Wathi Mining Progress The following information has been cabled to the London office of the Waihi Gold Mining Company: j For the period ended November 16, comprising 21 crushing days, 16.990 tons of ore were crushed for a result of 6.192 fine ounces of gold and 37.924 fine ounces of silver. This includes 932 tons mined from the Grand Junction area, yielding 419 ounces of gold and 4,504 ounces of silver, also IS3 ounces of gold and 564 ounces of silver from residues from the site of the old Waihi mill. In the No. 10 level driving has been commenced on a lode situated at 40 feet south of the I Empire lode, in the London south I crosscut. Twenty-six feet has been i driven east, the assay value being 67s I 6d a ton. and 20 feet driven west, the r.. The ; width of the lode varies from five feet to a width greater than the drive m each direction. Driving north-west w.-js commenced from the north section of the Empire lode, near the east boundary, and at 107 feet we have intersected a lode; the first five feet assays 58s a ton. and the next five feet is country with springers of quartz.
