LIBERALS GIVE NOTICE OF 33 AMENDMENTS DEBATE IN THE COMMONS British Official Wireless Reed. 10.50 a.m. RUGBY. Thursday. The Government Unemployment Insurance* Bill will he debated in committee in the House of Commons today. A large number of amendments lias already been -tabled. The Liberal Party has given notice of 33 amendments. and it is stated that others will be advanced later. The Minister in charge of unemployment. Mr. J. H. Thomas, met representatives of the General Council of the Trade Union Congress this morning to discuss the means of securing the fullest co-operation of the council in speeding up employment schemes. At a meeting of the council yesterday the effect of disarmament measures on employment and the possibility of finding alternative work at the dockyards was discussed. Members of the council were the guest, of the Prime Minister, Mr. Ramsay MacDonald, at dinner last night.
