HOUSE AND FURNITURE BURNED (From Our Own Correspondent) NEW PLYMOUTH, Today. Fire gutted a house at Patea last evening, owned by Mr. T. Moss, of Hawera, and occupied by Mr. T. Goodwin and his family. Mr. and Mrs. Goodwin were away for the evening and a passer-by noticed ihe flames at about 10 o’clock. He called the brigade, but it was then too late to save the building. The firemen devoted" their efforts to saving an adjoining house and outbuildings. Mr. Goodwin lost all his furniture and property and £25 in cash, leaving the family with only the clothes they were wearing. The furniture was insured for £l5O.
