Kirk, referred to the impending departure of the patron of the association, Sir Charles Fergusson, and Lady Alice Fergusson. lie said Their Excellencies had made a deep impression on all by their wonderfully unselfish lives. Mr. Kirk moved: —"That the council place on record its regret at the impending departure of Sir Charles Fergusson, whose inspiring and unselfish labours and whose wise and helpful words have so greatly promoted the Scout movement in New Zealand. With its respect the council tenders to Their Excellencies its most cordial thanks and its best wishes for their future.” The motion was carried by acclamation.
