“REDSKIN” A line dramatic film story which is j the more notable for the addition of colour photography and sound syr.j chronisation. is “Redskin,” now at the • Empress Theatre. X#\vton. I Richard Dix, the star, is seen as a young Red Indian chief who is sent away to an American school to be “educated.” He subsequently goes to a big American University, out when he returns to his tribe he is regarded as too much like a white man and is ostracised. Gladys Belmont lias the role of a girl from a neignbouring I tribe with whom I>ix falls in love, j “Redskin” is an entertaining picture I enjoyed by the children because o: the gorgeous colours, but appreciated by the adults for the pathos of these lovers fighting against tribe and race prejudice. The Empress Theatre is also showing a number of shorter talkie items. ; Hal Skelly’s latest talking produci tion for Paramount is “Men Are Like That,” adapted from George Kelly’. New York success, “The Show-Off.”

Guinn Williams, who is making a name for himself in pictures, was thrown from a horse and fractured a collar bone while supporting Janet Q&ynor and Charles I-'arrell in “The Lucky Star.” Just recovered from this, he went to another studio and was kicked by another horse. This time Williams kicked back and the horse was laid up, for a couple of days. It seems that Williams can be pushed just so far, then it ceases is be fun.
