CHRISTMAS TREE APPEAL
PICTURES AT NEWMARKET
A special film entertainment will be presented in the Rialto Theatre, Newmarket, this evening, to raise funds to provide Christmas cheer and a Christmas tree for the children in the Public Hospital.
This is the ninth year in succession in which Newmarket has made its appeal for the children in hospital. On this occasion, as formerly, Mrs. Donaldson. Mayoress, is organising the effort, and with a committee is endeavouring to fill the Rialto Theatre. The whole of the proceeds will go to the children.
Moreover, two most enjoyable films will be shown. They are “Half a Bride,” an amusing story of a shipwreck, starring Esther Ralston and Gary Cooper, also “Blue Skies,” a delightful tale of an American children’s orphanage, starring Helen Twelvetrees.
