EMPRESS, NEWTON

The splendid talkie programme now at the Empress Theatre, Newton, is headed by "Redskin,” one of the most outstanding film productions of the year, because it combines sound with colour.

“Redskin” has been made almost entirely in natural colours and as the backgrounds are most picturesque, it is a beautiful production. The story is a modern one, dealing in a sympathetic way with the trials of a j-oung native Red Indian, who is educated and goes through to a big American university as a champion runner. Itichard I)ix is the star 'and gives one of the best of his virile characterisations. A programme of all-talkie featurettes is also being shown.
