ANT-HILLS AND SPACE
Have you ever looked down from the top of a hill on a great city and thought of its inhabitants as so many ants hastening about their business ? Such comings and goings, sucli a tiurry and fuss, such a crowding of incident into the little span that men call life. A city is like an ant-hill with its daily striving, its activity, its petty strife, its good ants, its bad ants, all with one common aim. And have you ever looked up at the stars and tried to measure space? That is a lesson in humility. If ever you are feeling very important in the general scheme of things it is a good idea to study the stars. They bring you back to your own level and make you realise that you are only a small cog in the wheels of a great machine. They will still be swinging in space when cities and ant-hills crumble. t A new Brave, Gleaming Shell, has sought the "Wigwam trail this week. She lives at Suva, Fiji. REDFEATHER.
