PAPATOETOE TOWN BOARD
Applications from ratepayers for water having been received, the town clerk of the Fapatoetoe Town Board was authorised, at last evening’s meeting of the Fapatoetoe Town Board, to inst-uct the turncock to provide the water, and to advise the applicants that the board accepts no liability of continuity of the service before January l. The clerk of works reported that all °f the reticulation mains had been laid.
The Papatoetoe Public School’s request for a free supply of water was deferred. On the motion of Mr. Nicholson, chairman of the finance committee, it was agreed to strike a water rate ol l-53d in the £, from January 1 to March 31, 1930, with a minimum charge °f t>s 6d. _ Mr. Gage complained that the whole the drainage system at his r ®*V hence at Puhinui had been smashed, through carting heavy pipes over nis Property. The question was referred to the engineer to take up with the contractors. The clerk reported that the general account was in debit £73 11s 9d. It was agreed to approve of the pi O" Posal that local bodies should unite f °r the purpose of preparing a region tow-n planning scheme.
