REDUCTiON OF TAXATION United P.A.—By Telegraph—Copyright Reed. 10 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. A draft of the Budget was considered by the State Cabinet. The Treasurer, the Hon. B. S. B. Stevens, hopes to forecast a reduction of taxation on incomes from personal exertion, and a repeal of the supertax on the profits of companies. Another proposal is a reduction in the salaries of Members of Parliament.

Members of the New South “Wales Legislative Assembly since 1325 have been paid a salary at the rate of £S7S a year, and they are allowed to travel free on Government railways and tramways in the State. The Premier’s salary is £2,445 a year, and the Leader of the Opposition gets £1,125 a year. Members of the Legislative Council get no remuneration, hut travel free on the State railways and tramways. The President of the Legislative Council receives an annual salary of £1,200, and the Chairman of Committees £7OO.
