AERO CLUB INSTRUCTOR
LIEUT. ALLAN APPOINTED
EXPERIENCE DURING WAR The Auckland' Aero Club’s new instructor, appointed in the place of Major G. A. C. Cow per, who retired to take up a position with the Hamilton Airways, Ltd., is Lieutenant R. D. Allan. Lieutenant Allan has been recently employed as assistant instructor to the Hawke’s Bay Aero Club and the Auckland Club Is fortunate in acquiring one so experienced in the instructing of pupils. Born in New Zealand, Lieutenant Allan left for England when quite a lad and at the outbreak of the war joined up with the Royal Air Force. Soon after this he was appointed instructor to one of the flying schools at Homo for the purpose of preparing recruits for the front, and in this capacity was more than 500 hours in the air. He commenced his duties at the Mangere Airdrome on Saturday and today left for Largaville in one of the Moth planes with Dr. Kenneth Mackenzie. who is going North to attend a patient.
